Powerhouse attracting interest from Chelsea and selling club will listen to offers

It’s difficult to see where Chelsea could improve right now and their stunning defeat of Manchester City simply added weight to that theory.

But, even without involvement in Europe this season, it could be a gruelling campaign for the Blues and they will surely look to add numbers in January.

One player who is again being linked with the club is German monolith Antonio Rudiger.

The 6ft 3in 23-year-old is said to be of interest to many of the elite clubs in England after some superb form over the last two years and The Daily Mail reports:

Roma are ready to listen to offers for Antonio Rudiger next month which could spark a four-way Premier League battle for his services.

Rudiger is attracting interest from England’s elite; Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea are keeping tabs on his future as they look to bolster their defensive ranks.

The Chelsea defence looks perfectly balanced right now but the recent injuries to 36-year-old John Terry have exposed a potential weakness in the sqaud. If any of the front line defenders get injured Chelsea could seriously struggle.

So January would seem like a sensible time to add numbers.

And Rudiger looks like a top quality acquisition. He only moved to Roma, for around 4m Euros, in 2015. Last season he was a virtual ever present with 37 appearances and 2 goals for his new club.

And if a deal is to be struck one would imagine that at least 20m Euros would have to be added to the price tag.

Let’s see some of his best moments for Roma. Chelsea fans: would Rudiger be a guaranteed starter at Stamford Bridge? And who would be dropped to fit him into the side?
