Real Madrid increasingly confident of record deal

Real Madrid are said to be increasingly confident of signing Eden Hazard from Chelsea this summer in what will surely be the biggest deal of the transfer window.

Highly respected football journalist, John Cross, writes in British media outlet, the Mirror:

Real Madrid’s confidence growing over world-record smashing transfer of Eden Hazard from Chelsea

The report states that Real Madrid feel that they are getting some encouragement from Chelsea and perhaps they are resigned to losing a player who may want to leave Stamford Bridge this summer.

The source also opines that Alvaro Morata is being lined up as part of the deal and that would at least solve Chelsea’s striking problem if they do also lose Diego Costa this summer.

Hazard has been a quite superb signing for Chelsea. He has had his ups and downs but been an integral part of their success over the last five years with 69 goals in 240 games for the club and at least as many assists in that time.

But, as with Cristiano Ronaldo, some foreign players feel that Real Madrid is the summit of club football and no amount of money will keep them in the Premier League.

Chelsea will struggle to replace Hazard like for like but the addition of Morata would be handy. He’s a really intelligent footballer who TFF feels would link up well with the pace of Willian – who may yet take Hazard’s place on the left – and Pedro next season.

As for Real Madrid, they may decide to move Cristiano Ronaldo on if they do bring Hazard to the club. More likely though they will pay him through the middle again next season with Bale and Hazard offering amazing service from the wide areas.
