Real Madrid have had their transfer ban reduced to one window which means that they are free to sign players again next summer.
And latest reports in England suggest that they will once more attempt to prise a player away from Tottenham.
British media outlet, The Mirror, states:
Real Madrid lining up Tottenham’s Dele Alli for massive summer transfer to the Bernabeu.
The 20-year-old has only just signed a major new contract with Spurs but that hasn’t stopped Real Madrid in the past. And what a player they would be getting.
This is possibly the most gifted player to come out of England since Wayne Rooney.
The England international of 15 caps and two goals loves to play in the hole at number 10 but can also operate in midfield or on the wing.
He’s an incredibly nimble and light-footed player for a man of 6ft 1in and he scores wonderful and regular goals as well as making things happen for others.
Alli broke into the Spurs team last season and has become a first team regular with 19 goals in 70 games for the club after signing for just £5m from MK Dons.
His transfer fee would be around ten times that if Real Madrid were serious about his signature.
But with no player really holding down the number ten shirt convincingly at Real Madrid perhaps James Rodriguez will move on and Alli will take his place as the main playmaker at the club.
Real Madrid fans – is Alli good enough to take centre stage at El Bernabeu or would you prefer to sign a more experienced man for the role?
