Talks held: Everton launch move for another top player

Everton made a major purchase this week with Yannick Bolasie joining the club. But the vibe coming out of Goodison is that the club are seriously interested in doing more big business before September.

With new investment and £50m accrued from the sale of John Stones, Everton have finally got their man with Bolasie joining the club in what could be a great coup.

But the latest reports suggest that Everton want to bring another high profile player in as soon as possible, with The Daily Mail reporting:

Everton have rekindled interest in Newcastle United midfielder Moussa Sissoko
Talks took place on Monday as Everton sounded out the Championship side over their £35million valuation of the France international.

The 27-year-old Newcastle midfielder has done little to disguise the fact that he wants to leave the Championship side before the end of the window and reports suggest that the player’s agent has spoken to big clubs in Italy about a transfer.

But the player is so suited to The Premier League and perhaps he would prefer a move down the road to Everton.

Sissoko was one of the stand out performers for France at EURO 2016 and we like him a lot. He’s a multi-functional player who can tackle, pass, dribble and score goals.

If Everton did bring him in they would be adding power, drive and authority to a midfield which is already well-served but lacks real thrust.

Let’s see some of Sissoko’s best moments. Everton fans: a top signing or would you rather concentrate on strengthening other areas of the side?
