The race for the top signatures feels more intense than ever this summer in The Premier League and latest reports suggest that Liverpool almost completed a deal for Mexican midfielder Hector Herrera. The Express reports:
LIVERPOOL are on the verge of completing the signing of Hector Herrera, according to reports in Mexico.
Meanwhile, The Daily Star says:
Liverpool on verge of signing Hector Herrera, claims Mexican journalist Vladimir Garcia
The suggestion is that Italian giants Napoli were close to a deal for the midfielder but Liverpool stole in to get their man at the last.
The 26-year-old Mexico international has played 42 times for his country and scored 4 goals. At club level he has been in the senior side at Porto since 2013 and since played 111 times with 19 goals and 18 assists.
As you will see from the clip below, Herrera is a technically astute player but also a great athlete who will always put a shift in.
Liverpool look a little light in the midfield right now with the likes of Joe Allen and Lucas looking as if their futures are less than secure at the club.
Jurgen Klopp will be aware that the likes of Antonio Conte, Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola will be looking to make early moves in the market in order to hit the ground running next season and he too will want to get his cards in order as early as possible and before the best options dry up.
Here are some of the better moments of Herrera in his career so far. Liverpool fans – is this the sort of signing that can springboard the club to greater height next season?
