3-4-3: How will Chelsea line up next season? And a 2018 title prediction

There is the age old mantra that if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. Chelsea had few weaknesses in their armoury in the incredible title winning team this term.

Nothing will come close to the shock title win for Leicester City last season but it’s still something of a surprise that Chelsea came from mid table to smash the opposition and win the title at a canter in the end.

And the stars of the show were perhaps not individual players but the new manager and the formation. Conte went for a really brave 3-4-3 formation and it worked wonders as the Blues were able to adapt to any type of opponent before suffocating and then mastering them.

But there is still room for improvement in the defence and Chelsea may well have to splurge on another striker if Diego Costa leaves the club this summer.

Conte also loves to have a powerful midfield and perhaps another indefatigable dynamo will be added to the side.

With John Terry leaving the club the strengthening of the spine should continue. Even though the Englishman didn’t play too many games this season his influence on the squad is obviously still huge. So Chelsea need a new winner in there and also a new midfielder and striker.

At this point in time the rumours have surrounded players such as Tiemoue Bakayoko, Virgil van Dijk, and up top Romelu Lukaku.

These are perhaps the most likely additions to the team and will give Chelsea even more power and goalscoring ability. So here is how we think Chelsea could line up next season and we wouldn’t be surprised if they threw a new fullback in there as well.

Chelsea fans: would this be a stronger team than what you currently have?
