Arsenal would be ‘willing’ to pay £44million to secure signing

Arsenal strengthened their midfield and defense in the summer transfer window but did not splash the cash to improve the attack.

If reports in the media are anything to go by then the Gunners are interested in signing Ivorian international and Lille winger Nicolas Pepe.

According to an exclusive report covered by Telefoot, Arsenal would be ‘willing’ to put 50 million euros (£44million) on the table to secure the signing of the 23-year-old attacker. The French outlet have mentioned that German clubs like Dortmund and Bayern Munich are looking to sign him as well.

The African star has been in sensational form for the Ligue 1 side. Last season, in 36 league outings, he scored 13 goals and provided 5 assists.

This season, so far, in just 12 league fixtures, Pepe has directly contributed in 15 goals already (8 goals and 7 assists). For the senior national team, he has so far netted 3 times in 9 appearances.

The former Angers playmaker is a pacy left footed player, who mainly plays on the right wing and this season, Emery has used the likes of Iwobi, Ramsey and Mkhitaryan in that position for Arsenal. The north Londoners also have quality stars like Ozil and Aubameyang in the attack and they have already netted 25 times (11 games) in the league this season.

In such a scenario, do Arsenal really need another attacker? Should they splash the cash to sign Pepe?
