There is all sorts of speculation surrounding Manchester United transfers this summer and it appears eminently feasible that they could spend more than they ever have before in one transfer window.
They obviously have huge amounts of money in their seemingly limitless pockets but they will also need to sell some players – not only to keep the squad at a good size but also to part fund this huge splurge.
So who will be offloaded as part of the summer exchange program? TFF looks at Manchester United’s possible departures.
Juan Mata
The Spaniard has been a consistent performer for Manchester United but he perhaps lacks the physical prowess of a really elite player. He doesn’t make the difference regularly enough in the big games and Manchester United could get good money for him if they sold him in the summer.
Marouane Fellaini
More in the mould of players that Jose Mourinho likes because he’s such a big and powerful performer. But he lacks the technical ability to be an elite level player for Manchester United and TFF believes that the club should cashing in if they have the chance.
Ashley Young
He’s been an excellent utility man for Manchester United over the last few years but at 31 does he really have that much more to give to the club?
Chris Smalling
He played well and captained Manchester United under Louis van Goal but he’s is another player who arguably lacks the technical ability for a Champions League semi-finals for example. Either he or Phil Jones could well be offloaded this summer.
Outside chance
Anthony Martial
He’s a sensational player and was Manchester United’s best outfield performer the season before last. But he doesn’t seem to get on that well with Jose Mourinho and perhaps he may leave this summer.
Luke Shaw
What on earth has happened to him? He looked like a world beater when he came to the club but fitness issues have got in the way and his temperament is also questionable. TFF thinks Manchester United should hold onto him but Mourinho you may feel otherwise.
