Breakthrough? World Class Manchester United target tells club he wants to leave – report

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has taken a month off in preparation for the new season and has left Ed Woodward with the reins in terms of player transfers this summer. United are once more expected to spend big.

To that end, world-class Manchester United target Antoine Griezmann has told his club that he wants to leave Atletico this summer according to latest reports in Spain. Spanish radio station Cope reckons that the player wants to move away after several glorious seasons at the club.

They say:

Griezmann ha pedido al Atlético salir del equipo

Griezmann has asked Atlético to leave the team

The 26-year-old France forward who has played 41 times for his country and scored 15 goals at a rate of almost one every two matches, has been an absolute sensation in Spain over the last few years – first with Real Sociedad and then at Atletico Madrid.

He hit 50 goals in 200 games for Sociedad in five seasons at the club and that was mainly as a winger. He was moved inside much more as he became prominent at Atletico Madrid and has scored goals for fun in the last three years.

83 in 160 hundred represents a ratio of better than one goal every two games and that’s top level goalscoring.

But he has so much more to his game than just putting the ball in the onion bag. TFF believes that Manchester United would be getting an absolutely world-class player if they signed Griezmann this summer. He’s so quick on the ball, loves to dart and feint in all directions and has a wonderful first touch. He’s got a real football brain and would add class to the side whether he plays out wide, in the number 10 position or up top.
