There has been growing speculation, over the last couple of weeks, about the future of one of the brightest stars of The World Cup – Arturo Vidal.
If reports are to be believed then he could well be making a move this summer, from his current club Juventus to another giant of the European game. Manchester United are said to be one of the particularly interested parties.
The suggestion over the weekend was that a bid which included a part exchange for Manchester United winger Nani could see the deal getting done.
But reports on Monday afternoon suggest that Manchester United have been told that they are not keen on selling. The Metro reports:
Manchester United have failed in their bid to lure Chilean World Cup star Arturo Vidal from Juventus, after the Italian champions gave United a straight rejection to their inquiry.
Initial signals from Vidal’s representatives suggested he may be open to the move, but when the club were approached, they gave United a definite ‘no’.
We all know that things can change very quickly in football. Money usually talks louder than any loyalty to a club or desire to keep a player. Vidal will have a price but it’s a question of whether Manchester United are prepared to pay it. Vidal’s stock is at an all time high right now and that will clearly be reflected in his price.
There is no doubt that, at 27, Vidal is the answer to Manchester United’s lack of pace, power and industry in the middle of the park.
But they won’t be held to ransom and even figures of £40m may be too much for United.
Let’s see the highlights of Vidal. Do Manchester United fans think the club should go all out for the Chile superstar?
