Mourinho ready to move to sign £130,000-a-week star for Man Utd

Mourinho Angry

Manchester United lost their last league fixture against rivals Manchester City and the Red Devils need to step up big time to bounce back this season.

For now, the Old Trafford club are 8th in the Premier League table with 20 points, 12 points behind the league leaders. Last season, United only conceded 28 league goals in the entire campaign. However, this time around, in just 12 PL fixtures, they have already conceded 21 times and have a goal difference of minus 1.

Jose Mourinho surely needs to reinforce his back line in the winter transfer window and reports suggest that he is interested in signing a center half.

According to The Express, Mourinho is ready to move to sign Gary Cahill from Chelsea. The British source have mentioned that the defender has been given the green light to leave on loan in January.

The former Bolton center back won his first PL title in 2014-15 under Mourinho and the second title in 2016-17 under Conte.

Even in the last campaign, Cahill regularly started for the Stamford Bridge club, however, since the arrival of new boss Maurizio Sarri, so far, the veteran star has only played for 21 minutes in the league this season (0 starts).

In my opinion, United need to sign a top quality defender, who will serve the club in the long run and not someone, who is past his best and will turn 33 next month.

Cahill’s current deal with Chelsea will expire next summer and at the moment, he earns £130,000-a-week (The Express).
