Reports: Manchester United ready to make £70m bid

Manchester United seem to be casting the net wide in terms of their striker selection for next season. It appears now that Zlatan Ibrahimovic will be leaving the club this summer and so Manchester United need an A-list replacement.

Latest news reports suggest that they may be going for Andrea Belotti. Italian media outlet Tuttosport reports (via the Daily Mail):

Manchester United ‘ready to make £70million offer’ for Torino striker and Italy international Andrea Belotti

Belotti has been an absolute sensation in Italy over the last few years and really become a household name in the league. The 23-year-old made his breakthrough for Palermo in 2013 and had two really good seasons there before moving to Torino in 2015.

He scored 16 goals in 64 games for Palermo over two seasons and 40 in 74 for Torino. Those figures included an excellent 28 goals in just 38 games for the club last season.

But he’s not just a goalscorer. Belotti loves to run at defenders and has a genuine sense of flare about his game. He’s a dribbler, a goalscorer and a player who generally thrills crowds with his style of play.

TFF believes that he is tailor-made for the Manchester United fans who love players to offer spectacle as well as efficiency.

Belotti made his debut for Italy in 2016 and has really impressed at international level too with three goals in just eight appearances for his nation.

For our money, he’s a better player than Alvaro Morata and would be a far more exciting capture for Manchester United this summer.
