Surprise as Manchester United deal unlikely for Striker

Latest reports in the British media suggest that a deal for Zlatan Ibrahimovic to stay at Manchester United beyond this season is unlikely to be struck.

After scoring 28 goals for Manchester United in his first season at the club many expected him to stay on and play a crucial role in the club’s continuing development.

But a serious knee injury curtailed his season just as it was coming to a frothing finale. And that has possibly changed Manchester United’s perspective on a new deal.

There has been a huge amount speculation that Manchester United will sign another striker this summer and this has possibly come about as they have changed focus in terms of number nines for next season after the injury to the Swede.

Zlatan is a wonderful player with a sensational first touch and still has lots of power in his legs. But he is not a particularly mobile player 35.

British media outlet Sky Sports reports:

Manchester United are unlikely to offer Zlatan Ibrahimovic a contract extension, according to Sky sources.

The striker played 46 games for Manchester United last season and scored 28 goals before the injury. He started the season well and just got stronger as it went on.

Through his career he has played 720 club games in total and scored a whopping 423 goals.

He’s also played one hundred and sixteen times for Sweden scored sixty two goals.
