Man Utd believe £60million can get signing done

Manchester United signed Dalot to strengthen the full-back positions in the summer transfer window but they were unable to reinforce their central defense.

Now, according to an exclusive report covered by The Sun, Jose Mourinho is desperate to lure a new central defender in the winter transfer window.

The British outlet have mentioned that United are ready to launch a move worth £60million to sign Harry Maguire from Leicester City. The Foxes wanted £70million for the England international after his top displays at the World Cup but the Red Devils believe that £60million can get the signing done.

The former Chelsea boss has got more than a few central defenders in his team. Lindelof and Smalling have mainly started, Bailly has been out of form and the likes of Jones and Rojo have proved to be injury prone this season.

The Old Trafford club only conceded 28 goals in the league last season, however, this time around, they have been terrible at the back. In the current campaign, United have already conceded 17 goals in the PL.

Moreover, with a world class star like De Gea in the goal, they have only kept a single clean sheet in 10 league outings. Therefore, Mourinho has got to sort out the back line by signing a top center half in January.

Maguire is arguably England’s best central defender and he is dangerous from the set piece situations as well. So far, the 25-year-old star has netted 2 goals for Leicester this season.
